COLORADO, USA — Election season is in full swing across the country: campaign signs line the lawns, candidate advertisements are running on TV, and how to register to vote is trending on Google. You might be wondering, when will you get your ballot?
Ballot will be on their way to mailboxes sooner than you may think. County clerks will start sending out ballots to Coloradans on Oct. 11, and all ballots are required to be sent out by Oct. 18.
Every registered voter in Colorado will receive a ballot through the mail, but you can choose whether to vote by mail or in person.
You'll also receive your Colorado Blue Book in the mail. That's the book that explains the 14 statewide ballot measures that voters will decide on this year. For each measure on the ballot, the Blue Book provides general information, arguments from proponents and opponents and financial information on the measure. You can also read the Blue Book online.
Haven't registered to vote?
You can register to vote in Colorado, and vote, through 7 p.m. on Election Day.
If you want to receive a mail-in ballot, you must register to vote by Oct. 28. Registering to vote after that date means you'll need to vote in person.
If you're not sure whether you're registered to vote, you can check your status on the Colorado Secretary of State's website.
