DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — Molson Coors Brewing Company Chairman Pete Coors isn't too happy with comments made recently by some smaller brewers.
Coors responded this week in a letter published in Beer Business Daily to comments made by Brewers Association board members earlier this month at a Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville.
There, Eric Wallace, Brewers Association chairman and founder of Left Hand Brewery of Longmont, chastised big brewers like Molson Coors.
"Through clever and deceptive packaging design, omission of ownership statements on labels, intellectual property violations, denigrating, and expensive marketing campaigns, monopolistic practices choking off raw materials and distribution channels, rampant violations of trade practices and exclusionary tactics to defend their house in many markets, these guys are out to eat our collective lunch and take the kids' lunch money as well," Wallace said at the conference, as reported by Beer Business Daily.
