DENVER — A beer and wine garden and retail trucks are among the new additions coming to the 2019 Civic Center EATS that kicks off downtown Tuesday.
The annual lunch tradition also brings live music and, this year, 69 different food trucks to Civic Center Park.
Civic Center EATS takes place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from April 30 to Oct. 10, with the exception of July 2-4; Aug. 7 and Aug. 28-29; Sept. 3 and Sept. 12.
"With approximately 25 options available each day, downtown employees, residents and visitors enjoy an authentically local lunch while experiencing Civic Center 's architectural, horticultural and historic beauty," says the Civic Center Conservancy on its website.
The Civic Center Conservancy is a nonprofit with the goal to "restore, enhance and activate Denver’s historic Civic Center Park." A portion of the benefits from the annual event benefit the organization.
Staffed waste stations for trash, compost and recyclables will also be added this year.
"The Civic Center Conservancy is committed to reducing our environmental impact; as such, we require our Civic Center EATS food trucks to use only compostable and recyclable materials and containers," the website says.
