KUSA - Many 9NEWS viewers submitted photos of large hail that fell Monday night, mostly north of downtown Denver.
Photos showed the hail next to coins, lemons and golf balls.
According to the National Weather Service, hail as large as 2.75 inches in diameter was reported in Brighton just after 9 p.m. Monday.
Henderson, Lafayette, and Dacano all saw hail about 2.5 inches in diameter.
Places like Louisville, Northglenn Broomfield, and Boulder saw 1.5-inch diameter hail. Lots of others cities saw 1-inch hail. The map below from the National Weather Service shows exactly when the hail fell and when. Can't see the map, click here: https://bit.ly/2I1vIqP
According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm is one that produces one-inch hail or larger in diameter and/or produces winds of 58 miles an hour or more.
