Colorado Air National Guard conducting Veterans Day flyovers

The Colorado Air National Guard said the flyovers are conducted at no additional cost to taxpayers.

AURORA, Colo. — The Colorado Air National Guard will fly a formation of F-16 Fighting Falcons on Monday to commemorate Veterans Day.

The flyovers will arrive in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, at 11:30 a.m. followed by Loveland, Longmont, Westminster and Lakewood, according to a news release from the national guard.

Monday, Nov. 11

Scottsbluff, Nebraska

  • 11:30 a.m.

Loveland, Longmont, Westminster and Lakewood

  • 11:50 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Times are approximate and flights could be canceled due to bad weather, according to a National Guard news release.

"Veterans Day is a time to honor the bravery, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of those who have served our country," said U.S. Air Force Col. Benjamin Couchman, commander, 140th Wing. "We are honored to conduct these flyovers as they serve as a symbol of gratitude and respect for the veterans in our community, offering a moment of reflection for their selfless service."

The Colorado National Guard said the flyovers serve as training for the pilots and don’t cost taxpayers extra money.
