Thousands of massage guns sold nationwide recalled

The recalled percussion massagers were sold by several major retailers in stores nationwide and online including Amazon.

WASHINGTON — Around 87,000 Homedics Therapist Select Percussion Personal Massagers have been recalled because it can overheat while charging, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.

The recalled percussion massagers were sold by Macy’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Lowe’s, JCPenney, The Home Depot and other stores nationwide and online, including Amazon.com, from Sept. 2020 through Nov. 2023 for about $100.

About 46,000 of the recalled massagers were sold in the U.S., with the remaining 41,000 sold in Canada.

The recall includes the Homedics Therapist Select Massagers with the model number HHP-715 that were manufactured before 2023. The manufacturing date can be found underneath the massager's barrel and is represented by a four-digit code. The last two digits represent the manufacturing year, so only products with a code that end in 20, 21 or 22 are part of the recall.
