GILBERT, Ariz. — Country musician Colt Ford is hospitalized after sufferning a heart attack after performing at an Arizona bar Thursday night, according to a spokesperson.
Ford had the heart attack after performing at Dierks Bently’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Arizona, and is now in the Intensive Care Unit at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, his spokesperson said.
Several music outlets have reported that Ford has a long history of health problems, including eye cancer and an autoimmune disease known as Myasthenia Gravis.
Ford is a multi-platinum singer-songwriter from Athens, Georgia, and is best known for originally recording "Dirt Road Anthem," which later became a No. 1 hit for Jason Aldean.
Ford's spokesperson said updates on Ford's condition will be posted to his website and social media channels.
