Fiery Duke guard Grayson Allen — love him or hate him — went on a tear in the first half Saturday to help the Blue Devils surge way ahead of Cinderella Yale 48-25.
Allen had 22 points off 8-for-11 shooting, including four three-pointers, to nearly match the Bulldogs' first half points total.
With the game relatively out of reach after just 20 minutes, Yale fans began to sigh at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence.
"When he goes in the lane, he's expecting to get hit, which is sign of a great player," commentator Charles Barkley said on the halftime show. "I'm even more surprised by his range."
Allen and his teammates looked awfully impressive in the first half, shooting 60% from the floor, working the glass and defending at an extremely high level. Allen, alongside freshmen Brandon Ingram and Luke Kennard, combined for 44 first-half points.
