KUSA - The Colorado Department of Transportation's emergency repair of State Highway 5, which started last fall, is excepted to be completed by late-July.
This means Mount Evans Road will open at that time.
"We know that Mt. Evans is a much-loved destination during the summer months, which is why this project to improve and protect the roadway is so important," said Steve Harelson, CDOT West Program Engineer. "We're working closely with Clear Creek County Tourism and Forest Service, as well as local events to communicate updates on the project."
This $1.2 million project will stabilize the eroding roadway above Lincoln Lake
Heavy snowfall and the need to clear the work zone of all snow, the project restarted later than planned.
