BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A woman died after falling into Boulder Creek Friday.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a release that dispatchers received calls about a 65-year-old woman floating face-down in Boulder Creek just after 4:20 p.m. Friday.

The release said the unresponsive woman was found just west of a popular swimming area near the 40-mile marker of Boulder Canyon Drive.

Resuscitation efforts began immediately, according to the release. Rescue crews moved the woman from the far shore across the creek to an ambulance. She later died at a hospital.  On Wednesday, the Boulder County Coroner's Office identified her as Lisa Larson.

The release said preliminary reports indicate the woman was riding e-bikes with her husband along the bike path near the creek when she fell off her bike and into the water near Boulder Canyon Drive and Fourmile Canyon Drive.

The sheriff's office said first responders urge the public to be careful and be aware of the potential dangers posed by local waterways.
