There are no evacuation orders and no structures are being threatened, but a new wildfire ignited on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands north of Gypsum Sunday evening.
According to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement started getting calls about lightning and smoke near Trail Gulch around 7:45 p.m. where a wildlife fire was burning.
In a Tweet, Greater Eagle Fire said the fire was in rugged terrain, making access difficult.
Smoke can be seen near Highway 6 and Interstate 70. The Greater Eagle Fire Department is asking motorists to use caution when traveling through the area.
