A more than 700-acre fire burning at a shooting range in Fort Carson was sparked by gunfire, according to Fort Carson officials.
The fire is at Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex off Charter Oak Ranch Road in Fort Carson.
Low visibility caused by smoke from the fire prompted a partial closure of Interstate 25 near Fountain for nearly an hour and a half.
The Colorado Department of Transportation says I-25 was reopened a little before 4:30 p.m.
No structures are threatened and there are no evacuations underway. It's expected to burn around 1,500 acres before it's fully contained and put out.
The range is for ciivilian and military use in Fort Carson.
