A wildfire is burning on the Uncompahgre Plateau six miles northwest of Norwood.
According to Larry Helmerick, PIO for Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center, the fire was called in at 12:26 p.m. on Friday.
It has been named the Upper Mailbox Fire and is currently burning more than 470 acres Bureau of Land Management land, as of noon Saturday. It's currently burning mostly sage and grass.
Helmerick says that so far, no structures are threatened.
Right now, firefighters are attacking the fire by air with a helicopter and three air tankers.
Officials said lightning sparked the fire.
