CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Editor's note: It was initially reported that 96 homes were evacuated. The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office later clarified that five homes were evacuated.
A wildfire that forced evacuations at a mobile home park in the Dumont area is fully contained.
The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said five homes were evacuated in the Western Inn Trailer Court, which the fire is being named after, located in the 2600 block of County Road 308. The 5-acre grass fire was located just north of Interstate 70 near the mobile home park, between Lawson and Empire.
Those people have now returned to their homes.
On Saturday, the sheriff's office said the fire was 100% contained.
The cause is still under investigation, but firefighters said a mechanical failure in a vehicle may be to blame.
The sheriff's office said there were two other small fires in the area that have been put out.
