Mandatory evacuations lifted for wildfire burning in Larimer County

The fire burned between 15-30 acres near Teds Place at the intersection of Highways 14 and 287, northwest of Fort Collins.

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Mandatory evacuations were lifted about 3 p.m. Tuesday for those in the area of a new wildfire burning northwest of Fort Collins.

The fire started near Ted's Place at the intersection of Highways 14 and 287 and is estimated to have burned between 15-30 acres.

Poudre Fire Authority posted that it was responding to a wildfire just before 2 p.m. Tuesday. The fire at that time was estimated to be about 5 acres, and firefighters were working to suppress it and protect structures in the area, which officials said were just feet from the flames.

No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office said.

It is not clear what started the fire.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
