BRIGHTON, Colo. — A grass fire burned about 32 acres southeast of Barr Lake in Adams County Tuesday afternoon, the Brighton Fire Department said.
Firefighters said no buildings were damaged in the fire, which burned near Picadilly Road and East 132nd Avenue. Firefighters were able to protect the homes, barns and oil and gas infrastructure in the area.
No evacuation orders were issued in connection with the fire.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the fire burned on Barr Lake State Park property, but appears to have started on adjacent private property. They said the park's nature center was closed as a precaution.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
