Evacuation orders lifted for Spring Creek 2 Fire

The evacuation orders issued in wake of the 621-acre Spring Creek 2 Fire are set to be lifted at 8 p.m. Sunday.

The evacuation orders issued in wake of the 621-acre Spring Creek 2 Fire are set to be lifted at 8 p.m. Sunday.

The blaze, which started on Friday, has damaged or destroyed four out-buildings, three trailers and three vehicles. No primary residences were burned, according to InciWeb.

The Spring Creek 2 Fire started on private property in Garfield County, and spread onto private and BLM-managed land in Mesa County.

As of Sunday evening, the blaze was 40 percent contained. No new structures are threatened.

Firefighters have limited access to County Road 306 between Spring Creek and Wallace Creed Roads to residents and emergency traffic only.

There are 120 firefighters currently working to contain the Spring Creek 2 Fire.

The cause remains under investigation.
