2 northern Colorado wildfires prompt overlapping evacuation orders

Here's how to sign up for emergency alerts as wildfires burn in Boulder and Larimer counties.

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — The Alexander Mountain Fire burning west of Loveland and the Stone Canyon Fire north of Lyons have prompted overlapping evacuation orders in northern Colorado. 

The fires are burning about eight miles apart. The Alexander Mountain Fire is to the north, in Larimer County. The Stone Canyon Fire is in Boulder County, but its evacuation area extends into Larimer County.
