KUSA – Two Aurora Water employees had to be rescued from a manhole Monday following a crash in the area of Potomac Street and East Second Avenue.
Aurora Water was working on the manhole at the time, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.
For a reason that’s not known at this point, a vehicle plowed into the Aurora Water truck. One worker was inside the manhole, and another leapt inside to avoid getting hit.
Both were quickly rescued by firefighters.
A third worker was hit by one of the trucks involved the crash, a spokesperson for Aurora Fire said.
All three Aurora Water employees were hurt, but are expected to survive. Two were taken to the hospital, and another was treated on the scene.
There’s no word yet on if the person driving the vehicle that hit the Aurora Water truck has received a citation. It’s also unclear what caused the crash.
