KUSA – More than 30,000 voters in Jefferson and Douglas counties cast their ballots on the mill levy issue.
Measure 4A increases West Metro's current mill levy of 12.382 by 3 mills, generating about $8.6 million a year for the fire district's general operating expenses.
It was the largest turnout for a West Metro election in recent history.
At least 31 percent of the votes were counted as of 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
