WESTMINSTER, Colo — A northwest suburb of Denver will soon be home to a new store by a popular grocery store chain.

Trader Joe’s has signed a lease with City Center Marketplace in Westminster for a vacant 25,000-square-foot unit situated between Sierra Trading Post and Golf Galaxy, according to City Councilman Obi Ezeadi.

The store, located across the street from Westminster City Hall at 92nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, is expected to open in late 2025.

“For years, I’ve heard from countless residents about the desire for a (Trader Joe's) in our community,” Ezeadi said in a statement to the Denver Business Journal. “Our city staff did an incredible job, working tirelessly to make this a reality. This is more than just a new store; it's a step towards addressing the food deserts in our city.”

During his time on Westminster's City Council, Ezeadi said he has advocated for more grocery stories in high-need areas, especially for those who lack transportation. He’s worked with nonprofits like Growing Home to determine how to bring access to fresh, healthy food to the community, something he said the store will help accomplish.
