THORNTON - A 17-year-old boy was arrested in the fatal double shooting of two adult men in Thornton Thursday evening.
Police say since the suspect is a juvenile, his name and mug shot will not be released. Police say they continue to interview other persons of interest in the case.
The two men were shot and killed at the Renaissance 88 Apartments near East 88th Avenue and Grant Street. Police were called to the scene around 7 p.m.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene; the other man was transported to the hospital where he later died. No names have been released.
According to police, some witnesses say there was a physical altercation before the shooting. Police are still trying to piece together the events that led up to the incident.
The Thornton apartment complex where the shooting occurred serves formerly homeless families and individuals with disabilities, according to Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.
