LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A smoke shop business owner was arrested Friday afternoon by Larimer County Sheriff's deputies.
According to a news release sent out by the sheriff's office, the Larimer County Public Health Department petitioned a judge for a temporary restraining order against two locations of a business called One Love.
The health department said they had received multiple complaints about the business remaining open, according to the release.
Recent public health orders require non-essential businesses to close to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Judge Daniel McDonald issued the temporary restraining orders, according to the sheriff's office.
Larimer County deputies, Fort Collins Police and Loveland Police officers went to the One Love locations to serve the injunctions.
The Fort Collins location is at 700 South College Avenue. The Loveland location is at 2818 West Eisenhower Boulevard.
The sheriff's office said employees at the businesses were cooperative when law officers arrived.
Deputies contacted One Love's owner, Jonah Ricke, by phone to let him know the court orders were being served.
Ricke went to the Loveland shop location against officers' advice, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said Ricke, 32, did not comply with officers' orders to not enter the business and was subsequently arrested.
Ricke is being held at the Larimer County Detention Center on allegations of Unlawful Acts Public Health Act, Obstructing Government Operations, and Resisting Arrest. Those are all misdemeanors.
According to a Facebook post from One Love, its two locations in Larimer County and its other location in Greeley are all now closed indefinitely.
