BOULDER COUNTY, Colorado — No one was injured when the pilot of a single-engine plane made an emergency landing on Highway 287 in Boulder County Sunday afternoon.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said it happened just after 3 p.m. The pilot was on his way from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport when the plane experienced mechanical issues, the sheriff's office said.
The pilot made an emergency landing in the southbound lanes of Highway 287 just north of Niwot Road, which is south of Longmont. The pilot was the only person onboard the plane, deputies said. No one was injured.
The sheriff's office said southbound traffic was stopped while crews pulled the plane off the highway.
