WESTMINSTER – Sky9 captured a stunning sight at Standley Lake Regional Park Friday evening: a pair of bald eagles perched high in a tree.
On its website, the city of Westminster says the park has been home to a pair of bald eagles since 1992. When they were discovered building a nest, the park closed off access to the area so the birds would not be disturbed. It's not clear if the eagles spotted by Sky9 are the same pair mentioned on the city's website.
Standley Lake Regional Park has trails and designated viewing areas for visitors interested in seeing the birds. Several times a year, the park offers guided nature tours that offer an up-close look.
