DENVER — Three people were injured when a semi-truck crashed through a guardrail onto a street in a Denver neighborhood Friday.
The Denver Fire Department posted on social media just after 2 p.m. Friday that they were responding to a rolled-over semi-truck near Interstate 70 and Clay Street in the Sunnyside neighborhood.
Police said the crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Three people were taken to the hospital from the semi-truck and an SUV that was also involved.
Denver police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said the truck crashed through both a guardrail and wooden fencing. The department said that sound walls are scheduled to be installed along that stretch of the highway next year. When the new sound wall is installed, CDOT said a new guardrail will also be built.
