BROOMFIELD - An accident on the southbound onramp from Highway 7 onto Interstate 25 left a semi-tanker on its side and leaking crude oil Wednesday morning. The ramp reopened just before 4 p.m.
North Metro Fire Department worked to contain the spill and stop the leak. The driver was transported to an area hospital.
Crews closed a portion of soundbound I-25 near Highway 7 while dirt was moved onto the spill area.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
