BRIGHTON, Colo. — A semi truck crashed into the median early Tuesday morning forcing a full closure of westbound Interstate 76 for hours.
In a Tweet, the Colorado State Patrol said the driver was distracted and lost control and crashed into the median near 120th Avenue around 3:30 a.m. There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved, CSP said.
The agency also said that about 100 gallons of oil spilled which was part of the reason for the extended closure. CSP said the spill was related to the cargo that the truck was carrying. Just after 8 a.m., CSP said the highway had fully reopened.
