GOLDEN, Colo. — A Regional Transportation District (RTD) W line light rail train derailed near the Jefferson County Courthouse in Golden on Saturday morning, according to RTD.
The train derailed at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday with five people on board, including the operator, at the time of the incident. Two people reported minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
RTD said rail service to Jefferson County Government Center-Golden Station was suspended while crews work to safely re-rail the train.
A temporary bus shuttle service is operating between Red Rocks College and Jefferson County Government Center-Golden Stations. W line train service is operating as normal between Red Rocks College Station and Denver Union Station. RTD said Sunday the shuttle service will be in place until further notice.
