DENVER — Four people were taken to the hospital after the Denver Police Department said a car ran a red light and collided with an RTD bus near East Alameda Avenue and South Downing Street Thursday, causing the bus to hit a pole.
Denver Police Department spokesperson Doug Schepman said the crash was reported just before 11:30 a.m. The RTD driver and person driving the vehicle that apparently caused the crash were taken to the hospital, as well as two people aboard the bus.
Schepman could not say if anyone was severely injured in the crash.
A 9NEWS photographer on the scene took photos of the RTD bus after it came to rest on a pole.
DPD tweeted that Alameda was closed in both directions in the area, and northbound Downing was shut down as well.
The roads have since reopened.
Schepman could not say if anyone will face charges as a result of this incident.
