Remains of serial killer victim identified

DENVER – Confessed serial murderer Richard Paul White led police to buried human remains last fall in Mesita, Colo., as part of a plea agreement. Police released the identity Tuesday of the woman whose remains were found.

Police say the remains belong to Torrey Marie Foster. She would be 28 years old, but disappeared three years ago when she was 25.Foster leaves behind a 12-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter.White was sentenced to 144 years to life by a Denver judge last November. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty against him in exchange for his help in locating the remains of other victims.White led police to Mesita in Costilla County on the Colorado/New Mexico border last September. It was there where officials found the remains identified as Foster.Police say Foster's family had known the remains could have been hers. However, they didn't receive confirmation until last weekend.Last December White was sentenced in Arapahoe County to a concurrent life sentence for a 2003 Aurora murder.We'll have more information on this story on 9NEWS and 9NEWS.com later today.
