BOULDER, Colo. — Prescribed agricultural burns will take place in Boulder this week.
Boulder Fire-Rescue will conduct the prescribed burns in collaboration with Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Boulder Fire-Rescue said community members do not need to call 911 to report these burns because they are not emergencies.
One burn took place Tuesday on city-managed property south of Boulder Reservoir and near Sixmile Reservoir in northeast Boulder.
Another prescribed burn will take place on open space to the east of IBM and Diagonal, off of 71st Street. Burn ignition will begin after 10 a.m. and will end prior to 3 p.m. Community members may continue to see smoke past 3 p.m. as the fire crews extinguish the burn.
