JeffCo Sheriff’s Office no longer searching for suspect in reported attempted abduction

Deputies are asking the public for information on a suspect in an attempted abduction of a juvenile girl.

UPDATE: The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is no longer searching for a suspect after an alleged attempted abduction was reported on Friday.

The sheriff’s office says a woman offered a student a ride home, and contacted police after seeing reports of an attempted abduction.

No male suspect was involved, and no attempt to abduct, the sheriff’s office said.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says they're searching for a suspect who attempted to abduct a juvenile girl in Conifer on Thursday.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot, thin, mid 30-40s with a shaved head and red bumps on his top lip. The sheriff's office says he was allegedly wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans with paint stains.

Authorities believe the attempted abduction happened Thursday around 4:30 p.m. at Sutton Road and West Street in Conifer.

The child was able to run away to safety.
