Police say students' violent rap just a bad song

LOVELAND – Police say the Loveland High School students who posted a song on MySpace.com that threatened other classmates, did not pose a serious threat.

The song was littered with profanities and at one point talked about literally stabbing someone in the back.

When the mother of one of the students targeted in the song heard the lyrics, she called police.

After investigating, the Loveland police concluded the song stemmed from a simple dispute between two small groups at Loveland High School.

They say one group, "LTCP," and another, "Little Texas," park in different parts of the school parking lot and hadn't been getting along for quite some time.

Even though members of LTCP wrote the song, police say both sides are equally culpable in the dispute.

That's why when police charged six people with harassment, four were from LTCP and two were from "Little Texas."

Senior Jon McEvoy, 18, and Nicholas Gagnon, 19, who is no longer in school, were two of those charged. The other four are juveniles.

Police say at no point was there an actual threat to the school body.

"Hopefully, lessons have been learned and people will try and make better decisions in the future," said Sgt. Ben Hurr with the Loveland Police Department.
