Paraglider rescued after falling about 80 feet

Numerous agencies responded to the Wonder Hill neighborhood of Boulder to assist the man.

A paraglider was injured in Boulder Thursday afternoon.

BOULDER, Colo. — A man was rescued Thursday afternoon after he fell about 80 feet while using a paraglider near the Wonder Hill neighborhood of Boulder.

According to the city, Boulder Fire Rescue responded to the area near 6th Street and Locust Avenue around 12:15 p.m. for a report about the injured man.

They located the man in the area and then carried him down the hill before he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

In addition to Boulder Fire Rescue, multiple other agencies assisted with the rescue.

"Today’s response demonstrated a really good, collaborative effort by everybody on scene,” said Boulder Fire-Rescue acting Battalion Chief Joe Gross. “We are grateful we were able to get the patient on his way to the hospital as quickly as possible.”

The city did not provide any information on the severity of the man's injuries.
