DENVER - Firefighters kept a house fire from spreading to other buildings on East 16th Avenue and Race Street Saturday night, but they could not save the home.
At one point, the fire got so intense they had to retreat from the home to fight it from the outside.
The homeowner got out OK but is devastated.
Denver Fire expects crews to be there overnight working to put out hotspots. They have not yet determined the fire's cause.
