Edward “Tiger” Mike Davis, a former chauffeur who married Denver’s Helen Bonfils and became an oilman after their divorce, died Sunday at his home in Las Vegas.
Davis, 85, “had been battling cancer for quite a while,” said Kevin Trujillo, a friend and colleague of Davis, told the Denver Business Journal on Monday.
“He was working until about six months ago — still drilling oil wells, mostly in the Wyoming and Nebraska area,” Trujillo said.
Trujillo said Davis didn’t want a big service after his death, but friends are planning a “celebration of life” for him.
