DENVER — No serious injuries have been reported after a crash involving a police officer and pedestrian in Denver Friday, according to a tweet from the Denver Police Department (DPD.)

An officer was driving southeast on Speer Boulevard just before 11 a.m. and was starting to turn left onto northbound Bannock Street, according to Doug Schepman with DPD.

A woman was crossing Bannock Street in the crosswalk and was hit, Schepman said. Police said they believe the woman had the right of way at the time.

She was brought to the hospital for evaluation, but Schepman said it doesn't appear her injuries were serious.

Schepman said they have not determined whether or not the officer involved will receive a citation for the crash.

The intersection was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
