KUSA — Lester Holt and NBC Nightly News are traveling to five cities in five days for the "Across America" tour this week.
On Monday he was in Portland. Tuesday he's in Denver to shine a light on important stories that have local significance but with national implication.
"Here we're going to be looking at the experience of legalized marijuana and the policing, DUI," Holt said. "As you know there's no real reliable easy test for officers if they pull somebody over."
Holt will broadcast Nightly News on Tuesday evening from Union Station. Tuesday morning he stopped by for an interview with the 9NEWS morning team.
The morning team told him a viewer was on the line with a question, and it turned out to be none other than former 9NEWS anchor Adele Arakawa.
"My question is this," Adele said. "Who was your favorite co-anchor at 4:30 in the afternoon?"
"Oh you narrowed it down to 4:30, that helps. I'm going to go with Adele Arakawa."
The two worked together in the early 90s before Adele came to 9NEWS.
Nightly News will be broadcast Tuesday evening from Union Station. Holt and the team then head to Chicago, Pittsburgh and then Raleigh-Durham.
In case you needed it, the video below provides proof that Adele and Lester worked together in Chicago.
