One-on-one with presidential candidates to discuss Colorado-specific issues

Next with Kyle Clark has invited each of the candidates to sit down for one-on-one interviews, either at a campaign event or via satellite from another state.

DENVER — Colorado is one of 14 states with a presidential primary on Super Tuesday, March 3.

Alabama, Arkansas, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia are the others. While President Donald Trump essentially has a lock on the Republican nomination, the eight Democratic candidates still in the race are campaigning state-by-state to get in front of voters before then.

Next with Kyle Clark has invited each of the candidates to sit down for one-on-one interviews, either at a campaign event in Colorado or via satellite from another state.

You can see our full, unedited discussions with Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Tom Steyer, and former Mayor Pete Buttigieg on the Next YouTube page. You can click on their pictures in the graphic below for a direct link to the interview.

Next has extended invitations to all of the major Democratic candidates, as well as President Trump.

Coloradans could begin voting by mail weeks ago. As of Feb. 24, 523,938 ballots have been returned. Most of them, about 49%, are Republican ballots. About 38% of the ballots were from Democrats.

Primaries will continue nationally through June, but the Super Tuesday votes will decide about a third of the national Democratic delegates. Delegates are awarded to candidates based on vote totals, and delegates will pick the party nomination at the Democratic National Convention in July.

Sanders is currently leading the count.
