Next Question: Will I get a refund if the Rockies' home-opener is canceled for weather?

Don't hold your breath.

DENVER — Next Question: "I was seeing if you could contact the Colorado Rockies and get their comment on the refund policy should the Home Opener Game on Friday April 6th (be) canceled. As by all accounts the weather is showing freezing rain and snow leaving a substantial doubt of the game being played.”

That question comes to us from a viewer named Tyler, who also brought up that tickets for opening day at Coors Field were more expensive than even the second day’s game. “If the plan is to offer a raincheck for a ticket say for a Wednesday day game in the middle of August I believe that would be immensely unfair the people of Colorado who purchased tickets,” he said.

We reached out to the Rockies to check in on their policy. Even with the current forecast (chilly with chances of rain or snow), they’re planning on playing Friday’s game.

However. they also said, “We would treat it like any game that is impacted by weather, making a decision that day should we have inclement weather.".

A check of the current ticket policy on the Rockies’ website says that all dates and times are subject to change, and those changes do not constitute reason for refund. The rain check policy states:

“Should the GAME NUMBERED OR NAMED HEREON not be played or not progress to or beyond a point of play constituting a regulation game under the Official Baseball Rules after the Holder has been admitted to the ballpark, this RAIN CHECK will be honored at the re-scheduled game which replaces the GAME NUMBERED OR NAMED HEREON. If unable to attend the re-scheduled game, the Holder may exchange this RAIN CHECK for a ticket of the same value (subject to availability) for any game during the current regular season. Such exchanges must occur prior to the first pitch of the re-scheduled game.”

If anything changes, we'll pass along the details, but for now... it seems like life is unfair, Tyler, and you'd get a ticket to the make-up game.
