That question comes from a viewer named Rico, and here’s what we found:
We did find an article on our website titled, “Famous Pizza on South Broadway to close after 43 years”.
In this article, it says that this pizza joint, known for their generous-sized slices of New York-style pizza will close after 43 years of business.
Famous Pizza located on the corner of Bayaud Avenue and South Broadway was expected to close when its lease expired last October.
However, just as Rico pointed out, they are in fact still open and ready to serve you pizza!
The manager at Famous Pizza, Aleka Damarelos, told us that Famous Pizza is still open and has the same owner. The only thing that is different is that they are now signing a month-to-month lease.
So far, the rent hasn’t gone up.
She told 9NEWS that the building’s owner does not want to do a longer lease. So for now, they’re conducting business as usual.
Ultimately, the owner hopes to sign a longer lease to continue serving the Denver community.
