With a temperature in the 30s, the last pitch of the Colorado Rockies-Washington Nationals game was thrown after 10 p.m. Tuesday, following a rain delay that lasted longer than an hour. The Rockies scored more than 12 runs, but sadly couldn't outdo the Nationals' 15.
But through it all - the hours, the cold, the rain - were the fans... just not all the fans. While people emptied Coors Field to get home to bed on a school night, these baseball fans stayed the course for the Rockies.
The Rockies are 14-6 so far this season, meaning the bandwagon is filling up right about now. Some fans, though, are with the Rockies rain or shine (literally). These are the people who are not here for your bandwagon fandom:
Is the Rockies bandwagon full? We'll answer tonight on Next...

Here's that full story from Mike, written in that post above. This might be the best one....
Went to a winter game last night to celebrate Wolfgang's 4th birthday. This was his request, to see a Rockies game with mom, dad, and grandma and grandpa several weeks ago.
The game was rain delayed by an hour, 45 degrees at first pitch, 38 degrees at last pitch at 11 pm. My new Rockies rain parka earned every penny of its worth.
We lost 15 to 11 and the game wrapped up with most starters headed home or at least to a warm shower.
But the love of the game made it a glorious night. Several young boys in black baseball uniforms and baseball hats with a big T sat in front of us. Parents, you never know when your kid might be a hero. These boys played catch with Wolf, taught him how to eat sunflower seeds, gave him their change from the seeds, talked to him about baseball, and wished him happy birthday. All of us really got excited when Zimmerman caught a high fly ball right in front of us. Thought we were going to catch it ourselves. To top it off, the ball boy setting in front of us gave the guys all high fives. and when the boys left in the 7th they gave Wolf his first real baseball. One they brought from home.
So we stayed and watched all 27 runs and the fans leave.
Those few hundred of us that stayed started a Rockies chant in the bottom of the 8th. "Let's go Rockies".
In the bottom of the 8th we began making our way to the dugout hoping to catch an autograph.
On the way over all the security guards told us the best route and where to go.
A group of fans in Giants gear stopped Wolf and gave him a foul ball then wished him a happy birthday.
At the dugout we knew the players would split immediately after the last out, but you never know.
I caught the eye of the bat boy. He came back out after everyone was gone and rolled a ball down the dugout to Wolf.
As we turned to leave the head security guard said wait, there is another ball under that seat
4 balls on your 4th birthday from complete strangers.
What could be better?
Gotta love baseball!
Happy birthday Wolf. Thanks for a great memory#heynext Tweets
