LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Are you interested in shaping Larimer County’s next open space?

This year the county began the management plan for the 1,847-acre Chimney Hollow Open Space, which is located in Loveland and adjacent to the Chimney Hollow Reservoir, according to its website.

On Oct. 22, there will be a virtual open house from 5:30 and 7 p.m. where the public can learn about the planning process. Input will also be collected at the open house and via an online survey beginning Oct. 22 through Nov. 15.

During the first round of feedback, nearly 500 people completed the survey, according to a county news release.

“The primary recreation activities represented in the public’s initial feedback include hiking, mountain biking, running, swimming and paddle craft sports. When asked what users value most about open space, opportunities for nature-based recreation, connections to nature, and quality habitat and ecological conditions were predominant,” the release says.
