BOULDER - A 58-year-old man who drowned in Marshall Lake has been ruled an accidental death.
Jesus Madrid, of Boulder, was found unresponsive in Marshall Lake - which is located near the intersection of South 66th Street and Coal Creek Drive - on Oct. 10.
Witnesses called Boulder County dispatch just before 5 p.m. after Madrid tried to swim across the lake, went underwater and didn't resurface for several minutes. He was pulled from the water by nearby boaters and pronounced dead at a hospital.
After an autopsy, his death was certified as a drowning, with other conditions listed as recent ethanol use, hypertensive cardiovascular disease, obesity and hepatic steatosis.
