Thirty-seven-year-old Brook Berntson also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearms. Federal officers seized 99-snakes, including rattlesnakes, cobras and vipers, along with drugs and weapons in a June 28 raid of his home in Firestone, about 20-miles north of Denver. Berntson faces up to 10 years in prison on the weapons charge and five years on the wildlife charge at his Aug. 13 sentencing.
Man pleads guilty to illegally selling snakes
DENVER (AP) - A man who kept scores of exotic and venomous snakes in his Firestone home pleaded guilty Friday to a federal charge of interstate trafficking of wildlife.
