AURORA, Colo. — Police said a 17-year-old male is facing a possible first-degree murder charge in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday, Aug. 8. Aurora Police Department said the suspect turned himself in on Monday, Aug. 15.
Police said the shooting happened around 6:50 p.m. on Beeler Street near the intersection with Colfax Avenue.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, but later died. His name has not yet been released.
The teen suspect's name and mugshot were not released by authorities due to him being a minor.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
