BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Investigators don’t believe the death of a man whose body was found in the Gregory Canyon area Thursday morning was suspicious.
The unidentified man was first reported missing by a family member Wednesday evening, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. An ensuing search on Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property was called off a few hours later due to high winds that prevented tracking dogs from doing their duties.
This led to a second search at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The release says that the man’s body was found in the Gregory Canyon area around an hour later. Search and rescue teams later took his body to the trailhead.
The man has not been identified, and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office has not released his cause of death.
The Gregory Canyon trailhead is west of downtown Boulder at the base of the Flatirons. It connects to multiple trails that serve numerous Boulder open spaces.
