Coroner identifies man found dead after Greeley storm

The man was found dead outside a home but it's unclear whether his death is related to a storm that rolled through the area.

GREELEY, Colo. — A 48-year-old man was found dead in the backyard of a Greeley home last week around the time a storm moved through that brought large hail and flooding.

The Weld County Coroner's Office said they were notified about the man's death in the 800 block of 24th Street last Wednesday. Several east Greeley neighborhoods suffered significant flooding after the storm which rolled through late on May 28. It flooded streets and prompted road closures and nearly a dozen rescues.

On Tuesday, the coroner's office identified the victim as Joseph Rosendo Henry Carrisales. They said he was found dead outside on the property of a friend’s residence. It remains unclear, whether his death is related in any way to the storm that occurred in the Greeley area the night before.

The incident remains under investigation. They're waiting on lab results to determine his cause and manner of death, the coroner's office said.
