Longtime Denver oil and gas executive, dies at 86

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - James B. Wallace — a longtime Denver oil and gas man, former chairman and CEO of Grease Monkey International Inc., and a man who could do deals on a handshake — died Thursday at age 86.

Wallace was one of four founders of Brownlie, Wallace, Armstrong and Bander Exploration in Denver, an oil and gas company that was active throughout the Rockies in the 1970s and 1980s.

He also was served as a director for several oil and gas companies in town, and was the honorary lifetime chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, Denver Area Council, where he had served on the Board of Trustees since April 1985.
